This is a 5-frame solid wooden nuc box (not plywood), equipped with 5 wooden frames featuring Acorn foundation (double wax-coated) giving you the perfect environment to learn.

What holds many new beekeepers back from learning isn’t effort—it’s confidence. A large colony can feel overwhelming. But with a smaller, controlled learning hive, everything changes.

With fewer bees and just five frames, you can really begin to understand your bees by watching them and working them more frequently in this smaller learning box. Finally, beekeeping on training wheels! No body can learn to ride a bike on a bike equipped for the Tour de France. Practice inspections without feeling rushed or intimidated. And during the season, you'll always have a backup queen in your learning box if you need one in another larger hive. There's an $80 savings right there by time you spend $40 on a queen and $40 for shipping. And you can always transfer frames from the learning box if you need to raise a queen with eggs from the learning box or if another hive needs a boost of resources.
