There is an amount of uncertainty when waiting to pick up packages or nucs. Sometimes you get a call at what seems the last minute to come and pick up your bees, however, that is the nature of working with livestock, especially in the volatile spring weather of the north. If you are not able to work around this uncertainty, we suggest you do not order bees or nucs with us, but work with a company more local to you.
We have 5 Frame Nucs with bees for sale. It's great when bees overwinter so well that we can sell bees from overwintered hives. These colonies will have already been inspected by the Illinois Department of Ag prior to your pickup date.
These nucs are made up of 5 Deep frames of brood/pollen/nectar and comes with a mated Illinois queen. These are not nucs from the south and are not made from packages. These are nucs from Illinois overwintered colonies. These will be available some time in late May and will come in a transport nuc container so you can easily transfer your 5 frames over to your hive. Must be picked up at Long Lane Honey Bee Farms, near Fairmount, Illinois. We do not ship nucs with bees.
